”Go Against the Flow” highlights Metis’ story, client tips for entrepreneurs

By Joe Meloni
“Here,” the Metis mission statement starts, ”we will do our best work ever.” Metis Co-founders Cathy Atkins and Courtney Hurst embarked upon that mission more than 10 years ago, and their advice is featured in “Go Against the Flow,” a book by award-winning entrepreneur and author Charu Sharma. The book highlights the expertise and stories of female entrepreneurs who created successful companies on their own terms.
Cathy and Courtney’s path is the subject of a chapter titled “How to get started,” in which they discuss finding the right co-founder, distributing equity and other common questions and pain points entrepreneurs encounter when they try to launch their own companies. The chapter also features advice and ideas from successful entrepreneurs and Metis clients.
